This policy explains how Editly Home Repair Sdn Bhd (Registration No. 202001034127 (1392648-H), “Editly”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data collected through editly.help and through our day-to-day repair work, in line with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). We have tried to write it the way we quote jobs: plainly.
When you contact us or book a repair, we collect what the job needs and little else:
We use your data to quote and schedule repairs, to carry out and warranty the work, to invoice you, to answer questions afterwards, and to meet legal obligations such as tax record-keeping. We do not use your data for automated decision-making, and we do not build advertising profiles.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone. We do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for. Photographs of completed work are only used publicly (for example in our gallery) with the owner’s explicit permission, and never in a way that reveals your address.
Within Editly, only staff who need your details to do the job — the coordinator who books you in and the technicians attending. Externally, data may be processed by our hosting provider (for this website) and our accounting software provider (for invoices), both bound by their own confidentiality obligations. We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.
Job and invoice records are kept for seven years to satisfy tax and warranty requirements, then deleted. WhatsApp threads and fault photos with no active job attached are cleared periodically. You may ask us to delete your data earlier; we will comply except where retention is legally required.
Booking form submissions travel over an encrypted connection. Job records live in access-controlled systems, not on individual technicians’ personal devices. No system is perfect, but we treat your gate codes with the same care as our own.
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to its processing (which may limit our ability to serve you).
